3 time zones later

How lucky we have been to be able to visit family again this summer, and virtually travel the world in the era of Corona. First stop was California, which had just started opening up again post lockdown and was buzzing back to life. It felt weird to be outside without a mask and be able to navigate familiar places. Kylila was a hit everywhere she went, so adaptable and happily adjusting to all the new faces.

She has started being mobile, from barely able to crawl to now moving at lightning speed and desperate to start walking. Its hard to keep up, as much as I want to see her grow can someone just show me how to push pause?

We embraced nature as much as we could, did lots of hikes around the beach and new trails with Kylila humming away as we carried her along. She became a giant as she surely gained at least a kilo in 2 weeks courtesy of teta and jiddos amazing cooking :).

Next stop was Ireland, the first time for her to meet her grandparents and family there! A lot has happened in the year and a half since we last visited, and the evidence of change was glaring as Kylila now was sleeping in Johns old cot, eating in his high chair, and crawling on the same floors! A generation later :). She loved meeting her grandparents, especially "dada," her grandad who is sadly suffering from ALS, a cruel disease.

We really did everything we could to remain mindful and embrace this special time...the tight hugs, the sing alongs at night, the walks, the food, the green, the birds, and most importantly the love.

Now I am in Jakarta, our third time zone to adjust to in the last few weeks, We are in day 4 of our 8 day quarantine, with a sadly sick, teething baby. I know this will all pass, and I have made it my goal to write, exercise and share gratitude each day here, amidst the sleepless nights. I'm so lucky that this time I have my husband with me to help with Kylila.

We return back to a Bali that has been in lockdown again, and Indonesia in a whole is now the new epicenter of COVID. This journey of how we navigate this situation is not over, but we can get through anything together, united and positive is what I choose to be.
